Right for You?
  • You have a scar that bothers you cosmetically or physically.
  • Your scar has fully healed (usually waiting 6-12 months after injury is recommended).
  • You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have realistic expectations (improvement rather than total erasure).
  • You do not have active acne or skin infections in the area to be treated.
Common Myths
  • "Scars can be completely erased." -> False. No treatment can make a scar disappear 100%. The goal is to make it less visible, thinner, or blend it with surrounding skin.
  • "Laser removes scars instantly." -> False. Laser treatments require multiple sessions over time to show significant improvement.
  • "You can treat a scar immediately." -> False. It is often necessary to wait for the scar to mature (settle) for about 6 to 12 months before performing a revision surgery.

What is Scar Treatment?

The wound aesthetics, in other words, the wound revision, is the surgery performed in order to alleviate the appearance of the scars caused by various reasons. The plastic surgery methods can be applied to lighten the appearance of the scars, or, if possible, to completely remove them. Sometimes, the surgical and non-surgical methods can be used together.

Your scar can also have different depths and appearances, depending on the type of the injury occurring in any part of the body, the location of the wound, the methods used for the repair, the structure of the skin and the elasticity of the skin. However, the wound revision can be done for all kinds of types of the scar.

Are the Results of the Scar Aesthetic Permanent?

The result of the aesthetic interventions applied to the scars is permanent. You do not need to have regular surgery to lighten the appearance of these scars. In the surgical intervention, it is possible to achieve a permanent result with only one surgery. In addition, the gradual scar treatments can be performed in some obvious and irregular wounds. When aiming to lighten the appearance of the scars with a laser, a single treatment session cannot be enough. The number of the sessions can vary depending on the depth of the scar, what the scar is or the skin structure of the person. However, we can say that the result obtained after all sessions are completed is permanent.

For Whom is the Scar Aesthetic Suitable?

One of the issues coming up frequently is whether anyone who wants to benefit from this treatment can be treated. First of all, the scar does not necessarily have to be in the certain parts of the body in order to perform this treatment. These aesthetic interventions can be used to remove the scars on any part of the body. However, there are some areas where it is easier to remove or alleviate.

If the surgery is required to remove the scar, there should be no health problems that prevent the surgery. Since it is not possible to perform this aesthetic operation for those having the health problems that prevent the surgical intervention, it is necessary to turn to the different treatment options. In such cases, the laser techniques often come into play. The laser beams can significantly reduce the size of many different scars. However, the extent of a reduction will also vary depending on which body area the scar is in.

It is also not recommended to carry out this procedure during the pregnancy and lactation period. The expectant mothers who want to get rid of the scars should first wait for the birth to occur and then the breastfeeding period to be completed. The scars can then be removed by using the methods such as laser surgery.

The objective is to alleviate the appearance of scars from injuries, surgeries, or acne by making them blend more naturally with the skin. We use plastic surgery techniques to reposition the scar line or improve its texture for a more harmonious look.
While the goal is to make scars as inconspicuous as possible, total removal is rarely feasible; instead, we focus on significant aesthetic improvement. By refining the scar's pigmentation and surface quality, we can make it much less noticeable.
Every plan is tailored based on the scar's origin, size, location, and the patient's unique skin type. We evaluate these factors during a consultation to determine if surgical revision, subcision, or adipose injections will provide the best outcome.
While initial healing occurs within days, the treated area typically continues to improve and mature over a period of three months. During this time, the scar line settles and fades, leading to a much smoother and aesthetically pleasing skin surface.
